Denis Waddell

Chairman

Denis is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in managing exploration and mining companies. Denis founded Tanami Gold NL in 1994 and held the roles of  Managing Director, Chairman and Non-Executive Director until 2012. Before founding Tanami Gold NL, Denis was the Finance Director of the Metana Minerals NL group. Denis has considerable experience in corporate finance and operations management of exploration and mining companies.

Anthony (Tony) Lennox

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer

Tony is a seasoned executive with 40 years of experience in operations, project development and corporate management. He has also had 20 years of board experience and is a highly capable mining engineer with extensive underground and open-cut experience. Tony has over a decade of experience in Africa at the Managing Director and Chairman levels and has held positions at Rio Tinto and BHP.

Godfrey Gomwe

Non-Executive Director

Godfrey is the former Chief Executive Officer of Anglo American plc’s Thermal Coal business, and until August 2012 was the executive director of Anglo American South Africa, having previously held the positions of finance director and chief operating officer. Godfrey served as chairman and chief executive of Anglo American Zimbabwe Limited and on several Anglo American executive committees and operating boards.

Mark Palmer

Non-Executive Director

Mark has 13 years of experience working with entities in Australia, including 8 years with Dominion Mining. He previously worked with NM Rothschild & Sons Limited for the London mining project as part of the finance team, where he was responsible for assessing mining projects globally. Later, he worked on the investment banking team at UBS and ran the EMEA mining team at UBS, later joining Tembo Capital in 2015 as investment director.

With over 15 years of experience in the cross-functional resources industry, Patience previously held the position of Vice President of a leading ASX-listed mining company, leading multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated sustainability strategies. Currently, as CEO and Principal Consultant of Insight Mining Experts (IME), she offers unparalleled insights into global mining trends, risks, and ESG practices, especially in the context of energy transition.

Peet van Coller

Peet van Coller

Chief Financial Officer

Peet is a Chartered accountant who served his Articles of Clerkship at Ernst & Young. Peet has 23 years of experience, predominantly in the mining and manufacturing sectors, including various senior finance and commercial positions at Jubilee Group Metals, Murray & Roberts, Master Drilling, Samancor Chrome, Anglo Platinum and ARM-Norilsk JV, Nkomati Nickel Mines.

Martin Bouwmeester

Martin Bouwmeester

Company Secretary

Martin is a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant, highly experienced in exploration, mine development and operations. Martin previously worked closely with several companies to identify and assess exploration, development and mining opportunities, evaluate and arrange various alternatives for exploration, development and mining activities and develop and implement financial strategies. Martin was CFO, Business Development Manager and Company Secretary of Perseverance Corporation and was a key member of the executive team that evaluated the sulphide mineralisation at the Fosterville Gold Mine.

Marcus Birch

Marcus Birch

Executive: Sustainability & Business Support

Marcus has over 30 years of experience in mining and minerals exploration. He holds a BSc Honours in Geology from the University of Exeter and a BCom in economics, accounting and business management from the University of South Africa. Marcus initially began his career as a geologist in the South African gold mining sector, and more recently held senior general management positions in the junior exploration sector.

Andre Bergh

General Manager: Prieska Copper Zinc Mine (PCZM)

With more than 27 years of experience in mining, Andre is a Mechanical Engineer with an Engineer’s Certificate of Competency for Mines and Works. He started his career with DeBeers in Namibia, followed by opencast and underground mining experience in Namibia, Ghana, Tanzania and South Africa across a range of commodities. Andre has more than 10 years’ experience at a senior management level.

John Paul Hunt

Executive: Exploration

John Paul is an economic and exploration geologist with over 25 years of experience, and extensive experience in sub-Saharan Africa and northern Europe in grassroots to brownfields target generation and exploration. He has a track record of building successful teams and businesses at different scales. He has comprehensive experience in designing and executing exploration programmes at all stages. He has been involved in numerous project reviews, due diligence and feasibility studies.

Avishkar Nagaser

Executive: Corporate Communications and Investor Relations

Avishkar has a Bachelor of Business Science degree from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal and has almost 20 years of experience in mining and mining-related industries. He was previously Executive Vice President: Investor Relations and Corporate Affairs at global gold producer, Gold Fields, from 2015 to 2023. Before that, Avishkar was a mining research analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Macquarie First South Securities.

Nelson Mosiapoa

Nelson Mosiapoa

Group Corporate Social Responsibility Advisor

Nelson holds a degree in chemical engineering from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and is currently undertaking the final phase of his Post Graduate Diploma in Management at the University of Cape Town. He has served on the policy unit of the governing party in South Africa before the first democratic elections. His professional career started at Sasol Petroleum as a gasification process controller and then as a learner official at Anglo American/De Beers. He is the founder and trustee of the private investment equity company, Mosiapoa Family Trust.

Johan van Dyk

Project Director

Johan has more than 40 years’ experience in coal and base metals, high volume production, projects and ESG environments and has led large multi-disciplined teams and built capacity within the executive leadership at the operations supporting enhanced operational delivery. Previously Johan worked at Palabora Mining Company and held positions at ISCOR, Sasol and Rio Tinto’s North Parkes Mines in NSW Australia. Johan holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Cumbria (UK) and South African Government Competency Certification.
