We are transitioning from explorer to developer to copper and base metals producer in South Africa’s highly prospective, yet underexplored Northern Cape province. We are committed to supplying metals for tomorrow.

Five facts about us
Where is Orion Minerals listed?
Orion Minerals is dual listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE).
Where do we work and on what projects?
Our flagship Prieska Copper-Zinc Mine (PCZM), the Okiep Copper Project (OCP) and our exploration opportunities are all located in South Africa’s Northern Cape. We have over 3,400km2 of tenement holdings and applications across this highly prospective region.
Orion Minerals also holds exploration assets in Australia’s world-class Fraser Range.
Current status
We are well advanced in our transition to a developer and operator, with first production at our Prieska Copper-Zinc Mine targeted for the second quarter of 2027 (a year after financing). Once fully ramped up, PCZM will have the potential to deliver more than 30ktpa of copper and 65ktpa of zinc. These are critical for industries like renewable energy, electric vehicles, battery storage and advanced manufacturing.
Is ESG part of your development?
Orion Minerals has received multiple Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) awards, reflecting our company’s commitment to responsible project development and sustainable value creation from the earliest stages of our projects.
What does ‘metals for tomorrow’ mean?
Copper and zinc are critical to the global energy transition and are essential materials for renewable energy infrastructure, electric vehicles, battery storage and modern industrial applications. We are focused on developing and supplying these from our portfolio of quality assets in the Northern Cape. Beyond copper and zinc, our projects also contain known deposits of nickel, cobalt, Platinum Group Elements (PGEs), gold, silver, tungsten, Rare Earth Elements (REEs) and lithium.
Explore our projects:

Prieska Copper Zinc Mine (PCZM)
- Globally significant VMS resource – 31Mt at 1.2% Cu and 3.6% Zn.
- Probable Ore Reserves at PCZM total 15.6Mt at an average grade of 1.1% Cu and 3.1% Zn.
- Potential for an annual steady-state production of 22ktpa Cu and 65ktpa Zn.
- DFS2025: Mined in two phases with a total life-of-mine (LoM) of 13.2 years.
- Trial mining and early dewatering have begun.
- Fully permitted and ready to build.

Okiep Copper Project (OCP)
- Opportunity for a second base metal production hub alongside PCZM.
- Premier historical copper district that produced >2Mt of copper over 150 years.
- DFS 2025: Flat Mines (FM) project comprising 12-year life-of-mine (LoM) from first concentrate production.
- FM comprises four underground mining areas: Flat Mines North (FMN), Flat Mines Nababeep (FM-Nab) and the planned deposits at Flat Mines East (FME) and Flat Mines South (FMS).
- An estimated 78 ktpa of Cu at steady state at an average LoM grade of 1.18% Cu.

Jacomynspan Project (JMP) Nickel-Copper Cobalt-PGE Mine
- Executed Mining Right over Ni-Cu-Co-PGE+Au Intrusive Complex.
- JORC Mineral Resource of 65Mt at 0.28% Ni, 0.19% Cu & 0.02% Co, using a cut-off of 0.2% Ni.
- Potential for open-pit and shallow underground mining.
